Scans…here we come…
Life is great in our house!
Alexis started Speech Therapy this week. I’m very excited for both the girls. New words, and they love to learn how to speak as well as possible. They have a great teacher. It’s all working out lovely.
The girls start their swimming lessons again next week. They are so excited!
The hearing aids are awesome. Alexis has really grown up this past few months. She is taking an active responsibility in keeping her ears “dry” helping take care of the aids and putting them to bed and waking them up. She’s turned into such a big helper. She does dishes, bed making, cleaning, feeding the dogs and loves to be of help! I’m so lucky! Her communication has really changed. She’s able to tell me and others what she is thinking (almost too much!)
Funny story:
Austin went to get a blanket off the shelf to stuff around sister in a laundry basket for “cushion” and I asked her not to.
Austin said (sarcastically) “Do you want your kids to get hurt?”
I responded (sarcastically) “Yes, Austin, I want my kids to get hurt!” (BIG MISTAKE!)
So when the speech therapist was leaving our house, Alexis was whining and begging her to stay and play with her; when this didn’t work and we were walking out the therapist…
Alexis announces “MISS KRIS, MY MOMMY LIKES US TO GET HURT!”
I said “What, Alexis?”
and again….”My mommy is happy when we get hurt!!!!” “She LIKES IT, SHE SAID SO!”
I could have crawled under a rock!!! Out of the mouths of babes! This woman probably thinks “Wow, the child was asking me over and over to stay, and didn’t want me to leave, and her mommy likes it when they get hurt!” Hmmmm…..
Well, we go back to our favorite hospital on the 19th for Injections (MIBG) and the big day on Wednesday the 20th, and all day (like normal)…. i believe this is sedation 47…. I have to check.
IF everything is still stable, I believe this is our “GRADUATION SCAN”…. we will be moving to every 6 months, instead of every 3.
Wow, I can hardly believe it. Please pray with me that all goes smoothly. Our big girl is so different now, with so many questions and I just have to keep making things as positive as possible. But sometimes I feel like “when does the acting stop?”…..but this is for her, if she’s not afraid, why should I be?
Ecc. 1:18- For in much wisdom is much grief. And he who increases knowledge, increases sorrow.
You can skip to the end and leave a response. Pinging is currently not allowed.

Too Cute! This is why they say “Kids say the darndess(?)things”…
I read ALL of your updates Jill and just know that you have Keith,Quana and me thinking of you all… Austin and Alexis are just sooo precious and they are truly insperations to us all… I have hope and faith everything will turn out great with the scans!
Believing Alexis IS healed!! May the Lord God have all the Glory!!!! Blessings in abundance for 2010.Hugs and Prayers,Kathi in Poulsbo
I am praying that you will be doing scans every six months real soon! I can’t believe that the kids told the teacher that mommy likes it when they get hurt! I sympathize big time. Love you all so much!!!!!
Cute Photo. What a funny story and I can only imagine what you felt like. I would have crawled under a rock.
Well I will be praying for all of you and praying all is normal in Alexs scans. JB
Oh how I love to hear little Miss Alexis speak her mind! She is brighter than a star I tell ya. The Macy’s models are quite naturals aren’t they! It’s great to read all of your writings….you can feel your emotion. Job well done mom!!! I pray for this GRADUATION SCAN and for you all. Love ya!
It sounds like normal chaos at the Douglas house. Isn’t it great???
We pray for and look forward to SCAN GRADUATION. It will be a day to mark on the calendar and celebrate.
all our love and prayers
