HAPPY HOLIDAY WEEKEND! ENJOY IT!
Life has been good in the Douglas home. Alexis is go-go-go…..she is so on the go, that every day (it seems) she gets hurt. Yesterday she fell on the pavement and put her tooth thru her lip, she has a big swollen blue/black lip, and we finished the day with two skinned up knees. I need to stock up on band-aids and antiseptic spray!
this was dressing up at home, if you are going to play like a kitty, she says you have to look like a kitty!
On June 12th, a woman who came upon Alexis’s site, is holding an on-line art auction in her honor to raise money for Neuroblastoma research at Children’s…you can check it out at:

Alexis was invited to walk in the “Survivor’s Walk” for Relay for Life in Enumclaw. We are going to try and do this. And this next Friday we will be attending andspeaking at the Relay for Life in Kent in support of our dear friend putting on the event.
Next Sunday the princess turns 3! I am so delighted and honored to be her mother, she has brought more joy to my life than I knew possible. I hear “I love you mommy” so many times a day now. I’m so fortunate! She also now says, “I love you (or the dog, or daddy,)followed up with “I don’t want you to die”…I tell her I don’t want that to happen either. Weird comments from a almost 3 year old!
The other night, she was supposed to be in bed and she came out with a swimsuit, bag and sunglasses and said “bye mommy & daddy, I’m going to Mexico, see you later!”
One more funny video to share: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl7IU1PnNBM&feature=channel_page
this spring, we’ve taken lots of walks outside….
She went for her check up at Children’s in the dental clinic, I’m happy to report. NO CAVATIES or surgeries needed at this time! Notice: she promised to be a big girl if she could hold onto Austin. The moment we entered the room she held Austin’s hand and wouldn’t let go, we had to get Austin RIGHT next to her! She was the youngest the doctor said she’s had to successfully sit thru a whole cleaning with no problem! Yeah ALEXIS!!! & BIG SISTER!!!
On a side note, May 11th, has always been an “icky” day for me…I woke up on May 11th and thought “Today is going to be an icky day”….well when i was working on this dear computer, working on my pictures (which I love, you know that!) POOF! They all disappeared off of my external hard drive, all 24,000 of them from the last 3 years! My hard drive is still at the “dr” and he thinks he can get them all back…but AAAGGGHHHH!
Onto the serious stuff: On Monday, June 1st- Hubby & I go to meet with my neurosurgeon (i’m feeling WAY better!thank you for the prayers)
On Tuesday, June 2nd: Big Girl gets her nuclear injection at Children’s
On Wednesday, June 3rd: Big Girl gets her 45th Sedation, gets a CT scan, MIBG scan, labs and we should get the results should be in late that night.
On Thursday, Austin performs at her school Celebration Tea, she’s so excited, and worked hard for this. (Mommy better shift gears and give her the proper attention she needs and deserves!)
Needless to say, please remember our sweetie this next 2 weeks, she needs comfort, no fear, good thoughts, happy times, and “STABILITY”
