Update October 23rd, 2008
*this picture is at Austin’s 5 year check up, she’s all great and healthy! Yeah!
Alexis has been doing great! She goes for her next CT, MIBG, labs, etc… on November 11th & 12th. We should be talking to the doctor late on the evening of Wednesday, the 12th. I can’t imagine that things aren’t the same. She feels fantastic, except for when she’s running so hard and falls and gets scratches and scrapes and bumps. She is crazy! I left her alone in the bathroom 2 days ago, and I came back and she was on the counter, brushing her teeth. She is quite the climber! She says so many things, and loves to read and giggle and play jokes on all of us. We celebrate each day with her and who she is!
Life is so full of thunderstorms, for everyone. I think every one of my friends is going thru something so difficult and painful. That’s one of the reasons I haven’t posted in a while, there is a lot going on for my loved ones. I won’t mention names, but one friend just went thru a miscarriage this week, another is dealing with the emptiness and depression of her husband walking out and managing to keep her life and the lives of her children in order. One is dealing with the loss of a job, while another waits for to find out if she will still have a job. Two more of my close friends are dealing with the pending death of their parents.
My grandma is doing alright, and my mom is feeling better, thank you for praying for us.
The missionaries from our church are home. I called the church when they were gone to see how they were, and when I hung up the phone; my dear Austin says to me “Why did you do that mom, call the church?” I said to see how their trip is going. She said “You didn’t need to call, we’ve been praying for them, so we know that Jesus is keeping them safe.” I said (to see her answer) what if they weren’t safe, what if a tragedy happened and we’ve been praying?
She thought for a minute and said “That’s easy, that just means that God heard our prayers and he kept them safe in a different way and that keeping them safe on earth just wasn’t part of his plan; and they are even more OK in heaven!”
The bible tells us to have faith like a child. I wish I could be more like Austin in my faith and understanding.
Please pray for my friends and yours, and thank you for reading this and remembering Alexis in your prayers.
