A great visit with Kelly & her family
We got the chance to visit with the Grubb family yesterday, so of course a few pictures were taken (thanks Wayne!)Â Many of you have been praying for Kelly, she is 19, and has been fighting Leukimia since the age of 7 years old.
We met Kelly, when we were roommates at the hospital. Her family has always had the light of Jesus in their eyes, and is so amazing. I heard recently that the 4 person rooms in oncology that were made into 2 person rooms were made back into 4 person rooms recently at Children’s because there is such a need! That is awful! Not the pain that it is for “sharing” but that there is that much need! We were so grateful to meet this family and they are so patient. I can’t imagine being Kelly’s age & sharing a room with a baby! But she was so welcoming & sweet!
I can honestly say that Patty, (& all of you Grubb family) have helped me in ways you wil never know. Patty has been a mentor to me thru our journey. It’s un-real how close of a bond you can get with people going thru this. There is nothing “superficial” or fake about your child having cancer. It forms bonds that are deeper than anything!
Pain is REAL, Fear is REAL & most importantly God is REAL!
This first picture is Austin & Kelly, she adores Kelly & Kelly is so patient with her! Kelly has worked with children for a long time, thank you Kelly for your “talks” (or shall i say “listens” ha ha!) yesterday with Austin, she loved it!
Here is one Spectacular family!:
