Getting ready for surgery, watching a little TV…
Thank you Jesus!
Thank YOU for praying!
I think a day like today deserves some pictures, what do you think????
Today began at 3 am. Her surgery was at 7 am, and lasted 10 minutes.Â
I can’t believe what a difference no line makes, I’m still in shock. When I held her, I didn’t have to be “aware†of poking her with the clasps from her lines.
Her central line was placed September 1st, 2006. We are 2 days shy of one year…
Tonight I got to put her in a tight onesie, with no concerns of hurting her skin, or getting her lines in her diaper. I got to kiss & see part of Alexis’s chest that has been covered for the last year with some sort of tape. It was so wonderful to hold my baby for the first time, sine she was 11 weeks old and wrap my arms around her and squeeze her and hold her against me, without something blocking! It is wonderful, she’s never been in a regular onesie t’shirt. I can’t wait for sundresses & bathing suits & anything sleeveless! Yeah!
She’s still allergic to the sun, but not the water!! Anytime she’s had messy diapers, it takes about 20 minutes to clean up, because of the lines, the t’shirts to protect the lines, the “not getting her site or lines wet†and this has been very frequent. And then to change the caps and sanitize the lines, and NO MORE! She can be as messy as she likes; it will be a joy to be “Normal”
We had an ice cream to celebrate!!!!
Look! My chest is FREE….I lost my “3rd arm today”! Praise God!!!
